| Nancy Sinatra....originally known as the daughter of Frank Sinatra but became a popular singer in her own right during the years of 1966 through 1968. She never achieved the vocal standing of her famous father but Nancy did have a few hits of her own...namely the one I really liked...These Boots Are Made for Walkin' Yeah....Let's hear it for the Ladies!!! She immediately followed up this big 1966 success with Sugar Town.....Lightening's Girl and Love Eyes..... Her duet with her Father, Somethin' Stupid was also extremely popular. I have an album that she did with Lee Hazelwood that I happen to like very much...Nancy & Lee.....There are some good songs on this one. Story Book Children is one I can think of...and Summer Wine is another.....Some Velvet Morning.....Sundown.... She was pretty much type cast as a "sex kitten" and never did receive any credit as a "serious artist"....but her songs were neat and her "Boots" song has been heard in many a movie musical score. So I would say that Nancy has left her mark in the music world. She has also written a biography about her father. |
