| Daydream Believer Davy Jones (The Monkees) (Words and Music by John C. Stewart) Oh I could hide 'neath the wings of the bluebird as she sings The six o'clock alarm would never ring But it rings and I rise, wipe the sleep out of my eyes My shaving razor's cold and it stings CHORUS Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? You once thought of me as a white knight on a steed Now you know how happy I can be Oh, and our good time starts and ends With a dollar one to spend But how much baby do we really need? CHORUS Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? Brief instrumental interlude CHORUS Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen? |
| Daydream Believer' is an insightful autobiography written by Davy Jones....it encompasses his childhood growing up in England as the youngest of four children (he is the only boy) and his early entry into the world of theater ..... up to the present......a considerable portion is dedicated to the "Monkee" years and the aftermath....his children, marriages and re-finding himself after the end of the Monkees as a group. A good book.....one that comes from age and the ability to "look back".....Lots of pictures throughout, some of which were taken by David.....some I have never seen before in other publications, that was a nice treat...... This was My Favorite Christmas Present!!!!! (thankyou, Tom) |
