| This is what you have been waiting for....to hear what I had been waiting for...Did it Happen? YES!!! I was feeling pretty hopeless because all of Davy's concerts are back East or down South or somewhere unobtainable for me....and then....in July of this year.... I saw that the MONKEES were booked at the Bank America Center in BOISE, IDAHO......Hey! Hey! We can DRIVE that distance in 6-7 hours.....no SWEAT (she says....) Hey....I HAVE A TELEPHONE...... I called the place, bought the tickets...reserved a room at The Grove Hotel adjoining the concert arena....and then..... I TOLD MY HUSBAND........... He is a saint...he didn't kill me.....he didn't roll his eyes.....he was wonderful. I tried to find out information for a possible "Meet & Greet" before/after the show .... I drove my internet friends crazy.....there wasn't one scheduled. But I was happy just to be going..... We arrived in Boise at 2:30 pm on Saturday, August 16th...long drive....I walked into the hotel lobby and THERE HE WAS.......the object of my dreams! I introduced myself as one of his "Oldest" fans (literally)....he shook my hand. Then I worked up the remaining courage I had left and said that I would love to have my picture taken with him, but my camera was in the car....(story of my life...goes with the big "L" on my forehead). This gracious man finished an errand and came back to the Lobby so we could get some pictures....he didn't have to do that......but he did.....the pictures tell the rest of the story...... |
